Formation of auxin from tryptophan through action of polyphenols.

چکیده
Plant preparations that convert tryptophan to in(loleacetic acid (IAA) characteristically have low reaction yields. Since such preparations sometimes also contain IAA-oxidase activity, inhibition of the oxidase might raise the yields of IAA. Accordingly, polyphenolic inhibitors (1, 11, 19, 33, 40) were added to incubation mixtures containing tryptophan and a seedling enzyme preparation that was able to convert tryptophan to IAA. More than tenfold increases in auxin yield resulted. However, the presence of auxin in enzymeless controls, plus experiments on the recovery of added IAA, indlicated that the enhancements observed might be caused by a polyphenolic oxidation of tryptophan to IAA. We shall present evidence that the sequence

Effect of Co-Application of Auxin-Producing Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria and Tryptophan on Wheat Growth under Water Stress Conditions
Auxin produced by plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPR) in the wheat rhizosphere, can improve plant yield under water deficit stress condition. To investigate this issue, a completely randomized factorial design with three replications was conducted under greenhouse condition at the University of Maragheh, Eastern-Azarbayjan, Iran during 2019. Treatments were two types of growth-promoting bact...
متن کاملGibberellin-auxin interaction in pea stem elongation.
Joint application of gibberellic acid and indole-3-acetic acid to excised stem sections, terminal cuttings, and decapitated plants of a green dwarf pea results in a markedly synergistic growth response to these hormones. Synergism in green tall pea stem sections is comparatively small, although growth is kinetically indistinguishable from similarly treated dwarf sections.Gibberellin-induced gro...
متن کاملA New Gene for Auxin Synthesis
There is much interest in understanding the pathways that trigger biosynthesis of the plant hormone auxin. In this issue, Stepanova et al. (2008) and Tao et al. (2008) reveal that a small family of tryptophan aminotransferases catalyze formation of indole-3-pyruvic acid (IPA) from L-tryptophan (L-Trp), the first step in a pathway for auxin biosynthesis.
متن کاملInteractions of phenolic acids, metallic ions and chelating agents on auxin-induced growth.
By growth experiments in indoleacetic acid-1-(14)C (IAA), and determination of the (14)CO(2) evolved, it has been shown directly that polyphenols synergize IAA-induced growth by counteracting IAA decarboxylation. Sinapic and ferulic acids act like polyphenols. Endogenous polyphenols doubtless exert the same influence in intact plants. Monophenols stimulate the decarboxylation of IAA under condi...
متن کاملMaintenance of embryonic auxin distribution for apical-basal patterning by PIN-FORMED-dependent auxin transport in Arabidopsis.
Molecular mechanisms of pattern formation in the plant embryo are not well understood. Recent molecular and cellular studies, in conjunction with earlier microsurgical, physiological, and genetic work, are now starting to define the outlines of a model where gradients of the signaling molecule auxin play a central role in embryo patterning. It is relatively clear how these gradients are establi...
